The park is consists mostly of dense forests that are teaming with wildlife accented by its gorgeous lakes and waterways. This park caters to hikers and bikers by providing a wide range of well-marked trails designated for both. Pocahontas SP even suits the needs of equestrians with 10 miles of horseback riding trails. Whether staying for the week or just for a day of picnicking, the park is outfitted with all your needs.   This 2.5 mile hiking-only trail closely follows the shoreline of Beaver Lake. The trail features shady overlooks of the lake and minimal elevation change. Several boardwalks and overlooks provide ample views of the lake and wetlands.
