USS Barry
<i></i><b>USS&nbsp;<i>Barry</i>&nbsp;(DDG-52)</b>&nbsp;is an&nbsp;<a rel="" target="" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arleigh_Burke_class_destroyer"><i>Arleigh Burke</i>-class guided missile destroyer</a>,&nbsp;<a title="Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_commissioning" rel="" target="" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_commissioning">commissioned</a>&nbsp;in 1992.&nbsp;<i>Barry</i>&nbsp;is the fourth&nbsp;<a rel="" target="" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Navy">United States Navy</a>ship named after the "Father of the American Navy", Commodore&nbsp;<a rel="" target="" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Barry_(naval_officer)">John Barry</a>&nbsp;(1745–1803). Its homeport is&nbsp;<a rel="" target="" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naval_Station_Norfolk">Naval Station Norfolk</a>, Virginia. Kingman and Heritage Islands
Kingman and Heritage Islands are natural parklands found on the Anacostia River in Northeast Washington, DC. There are over 50 acres of natural area to be explored on these two island habitats. Wooded trails, river views, and wetlands comprise much of the sights to be experienced when visiting the park. Trails in the park are open for walking, hiking, and bicycling. Visitors can also enjoy viewing a variety of plants and animals native to the area.<br><br>

Kingman and Heritage islands can also be explored by boat. Kingman Island is bordered on the east by the Anacostia River, and on the west by Kingman Lake, which also surrounds Heritage Island. Anacostia Park
<b>Anacostia Park</b><span>&nbsp;is operated by the&nbsp;</span><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_National_Park_Service" target="" rel="">United States National Park Service</a><span>. It is one of&nbsp;</span><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington,_D.C." target="" rel="">Washington, D.C.</a>'s largest and most important recreation areas, with over 1200 acres (4.9 km2) at multiple sites. Included in Anacostia Park is Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens and Kenilworth Marsh. Hundreds of acres are available for ballfields, picnicking, basketball, tennis, and the Anacostia Park Pavilion has some 3300 square feet (307 m2<span>) of space for roller skating and special events. The&nbsp;</span><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langston_Golf_Course" target="" rel="">Langston Golf Course</a><span>&nbsp;offers an 18 hole course as well as a driving range, and three concession-operated marinas, four boat clubs, and a public boat ramp provide for access to the tidal&nbsp;</span><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacostia_River" target="" rel="">Anacostia River</a><span>&nbsp;for recreational boating.</span>

The Aquatic Resources Education Center (AREC) is an&nbsp; aquarium and aquatic education center located minutes from Capitol Hill in Anacostia Park. The AREC houses over 30 species of aquatic life from the District.
