Caledon State Park is a 2,579-acre (1,044 ha) state park located in King George, Virginia. The property was initially owned by the Alexander brothers, founders of the city of Alexandria, and was established in 1659 as Caledon Plantation. Ownership passed, in 1974, to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The park was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1974,[1] and provides a habitat for bald eagles along the Potomac River.
The Caledon Amphitheater trail, located within the historic 2,579-acre Caledon State Park, offers visitors a unique viewing area along the Potomac River. This accessible trail features an elevation of 50.61 feet and provides one of the region's premier locations for bald eagle observation, set against the backdrop of the park's rich colonial history dating back to 1659.
