Mallows Bay - High Tide

<span>The SS Boone was among 95 USSB steamships launched on July 4, 1918, in the “Tidal Wave,” the largest ship-launching day in history, with close to 100 vessels launched at shipyards across the United States. Of the 94 vessels launched that day, 53 were part of the wooden emergency cargo fleet, including Boone. Other vessels in that event, Bayou Teche, Mono, and Cumberland, are also located in Mallows Bay-Potomac River National Marine Sanctuary.</span>
