— Arc 03 · Sanctuary
The story
Built in 1943 by Rankin and Blackmore at Port Glasgow, Scotland, the Monrovia was a Liberian-registered ocean freighter that collided with the freighter Royalton during heavy fog near Thunder Bay.
Despite modern navigational technology including charts, radar, and radio telephones, the collision occurred. The wreck sits upright on the lake bottom and is largely intact except for the collision damage.
